Trade Secrets: Cooper Tires Ordered to Give It Up

Another tire company ordered to give plaintiff access to documents about its tires. The Salt Lake City Tribune reports:
Product-liability lawyers nationwide will be paying close attention to a lawsuit brought by families of Utah State University students killed and injured in a 2005 van crash.

The families won an order from U.S. Magistrate Paul Warner - and affirmed by U.S. District Judge Tena Campbell - for wide access to documents held by Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.

It was an order that Cooper Tire, in court filings, calls "breathtaking."
While Families get access to files of tire firm does provide much in the way of details, Indiana had its own case on tire companies and trade secrets this past year. I wrote about that case in Trade Secrets: New Case From Indiana Supreme Court.
